The Founder and Director

Ms. Angela Yau
Ms. Angela Yau is a dynamic leader who seamlessly bridges the worlds of finance, music, and community development. As CEO of a Hong Kong-based financial services group, she brings strategic acumen to every endeavor—yet her true passion lies in elevating harp education on the global stage.
A driving force in the international harp community, Ms. Yau founded both the Hong Kong Harp Chamber Music and the Hong Kong Harp Society. Her leadership extends to prestigious global institutions, serving as a Board Member of the USA International Harp Competition and the World Harp Congress. In 2017, she co-hosted the 13th World Harp Congress in Hong Kong, an event that drew over 1,000 harpists from around the globe. Under her guidance, the Hong Kong International Harp Competition—organized by the Hong Kong Harp Society—has grown into the world's largest harp contest, cementing Hong Kong’s reputation as the undisputed harp capital of Asia. She also chairs the organizing committee of the Wuxi Harp Festival and serves on the Board of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ms. Yau’s musical journey began early, with piano studies at the preparatory school of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She later became the first Hong Kong-trained harp student from the HK Music Office and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. As principal harpist of both the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Academy Orchestra, and a choir accompanist for her school, she demonstrated exceptional musicianship from a young age—earning the Top Ten Outstanding Student Award and the prestigious SCMP Student Musician of the Year title.
Her academic pursuits are equally impressive. Ms. Yau holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Engineering from the University of Hong Kong, an MBA from INSEAD, and an LLB from the University of London. Beyond music and finance, she is deeply committed to nurturing young talent and advancing technology, serving as a founding Board Member of the HKU MEICOM Alumni Association and the Youth Arch Foundation. She currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Online Brokers.
