Born in 1996, Mélanie Laurent grew up in a family of professional musicians in which love, music and sharing are one. So she learned the harp at the Toulouse Conservatory with her godmother Dominique Piussan, and chamber music at home, informally, for the pleasure of playing together. After a diploma in musical studies brilliantly obtained, it was at the age of 17 that Mélanie Laurent flew to Paris, where she perfected first with Ghislaine Petit at the Regional Conservatory, then at the Conservatory National Superior, in the class of his mentor, Isabelle Moretti. She obtained her license there with the mention very well in 2018 and is currently continuing her master’s there.
Today, it flourishes between a passion for pedagogy, a profession of orchestra (called to the Orchestra of the Paris National Opera, the National Orchestra of France, the Lamoureux Orchestra, the Morocco Philharmonic Orchestra …) and solo recitals in France and abroad. Recitals which she particularly likes for the conviviality and the sharing which they allow to create with the public.
Mélanie Laurent won the First Prize of the USA International Harp Competition in 2019 and the First Prize of the 2017 Léopold Bellan International Competition. She is supported by the Meyer foundation and the Tarrazi Funds.
