Summer Workshop and Performance in San Francisco and Chicago 2006/2007
The Hong Kong Harp Chamber’s summer trip will offer harp students a chance to study and perform with professional musicians and instructors in San Francisco and Chicago. The itinerary includes visits to the Lyon & Healy harp making workshop and harp demonstrations in the Lyon & Healy Concert Hall. The Hall is a premier performance venue for many classical, pop and jazz events. Only limited seats are available for the summer trip.

Master Class with Dan Yu 2006/2007
Dan Yu won First Prize in the 5th USA International Harp Competition – the first harpist from China ever to win this prestigious competition. The competition, which is held every three years in Indiana, USA, has launched the careers of many top harpists in the world. Ms. Yu was unanimously awarded the Gold Medal, and she also captured two additional prizes for her interpretation of the Concerto No. 1 by Ginastera, and for the solo work Maqarnat by the contemporary Israeli composer, Ami Ma’ayani. Since then, Ms. Yu has captivated and dazzled audiences across different continents. She has performed solo recitals in London, New York, Paris, Geneva, Tokyo and Beijing. Ms. Yu will host harp workshops at the Hong Kong Harp Chamber.

Triplett Harp Ensemble Program
Triplett is looking to sponsor a maximum of 6 members of the Hong Kong Harp Chamber to undergo a rigorous harp ensemble training under the name of ‘Triplett Harp Ensemble’
Students will be trained by local harp teachers and coached by overseas professional harpists
Outstanding harpists will be invited to play in overseas harp events or to play in a concert hall as part of professional concerts organized by the Chamber in Hong Kong

For Non-harp and Harp players
|
Wm. Rees Music Ensemble Program
This is a program designed for pianists, flutists, violinists or trumpet players to play together with harpists. It is a unique program in that programs are self-initiated by the participants.
Participants are entitled to reserve the Chamber’s lounge area at a special sponsored rental rate for rehearsals and performances.
Program participants are expected to play and perform with at least 3 different musical instruments.

For Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Harpists
|
Harp Learning Program
Students will have their performances recorded and reviewed regularly by a professional harpist other than their own harp teacher.
All recordings will be kept and can be used as references, including for future training and audition purposes.
