The Self-initiated Programs

• Participants either form their own groups
  or register at the Chamber to find other participants to form a group
  (e.g. similar age/background, specific music instrument)

• Groups can choose if they want to coach their own progress
  or ask the Chamber to find a coach from time to time

• Each group decides how frequently they will play together,
  subject to the availability of resources at the Chamber

• Participants can choose to continue with a group or to change groups at his/her own wish

• Examples of programs include:
• ‘Classical Repertoire with Harp and Flute’
• ‘Composer Snapshots’ (participants compose their own pieces)
• ‘Electric Ensemble Exploration’  (the Chamber features the first electric harp in Hong Kong – and the in the world!)

Applications and Other Details

• There is no audition to be admitted to the Program
• However, applicants are expected to know at least one musical instrument
• The formation of a group is based on being able to find players in different musical instruments of similar technical skills

• Applicants can apply as a group or as an individual
• The application fee will include the first 60-min session as a ‘trial’ session at the Chamber’s lounge area
• After the first session, if the group decides to continue as a group, they can reserve a maximum of two bookings at the special sponsored rental rate, subject to the Chamber’s venue booking schedule

• Participants are expected to bring their own musical instruments, except for piano and harps which they can hire from the Chamber
